NESHEP was formed in 1998 and is still growing to this day - 15 years on along with Teesside safety group (which was formed in 1989) with their 24 years of experience have merged together to create a stronger partnership, wider knowledge and enthusiasm to improve SHE for 2013.
There were previous proposals to merge Teesside Safety Group (TSG) with the North East SHE Partnership (NESHEP) which was greatly discussed with regards to this matter and members were given the opportunity to vote for or against the change. The vote was counted and verified and the decision was unanimous therefore the merge went ahead on Tuesday 7th June 2011, we are hoping to keep improving as an organisation now that the group has become one, and we believe this will make us stronger in the region.
Having the group merge has made us a bigger committee; this is helping us to have a wider variety of experience regarding health & safety. This is beneficial to us as a group and each of us as individuals and can help companies grow, develop and improve our SHE performance.
NESHEP approached TSG with a view to joining forces and making a stronger local SHE partnership, giving local businesses a stronger representative in SHE awareness.
Only with the help of the members and their companies has this growth being possible with the company representatives being allowed to give up some of their valuable time to support the group.
Since the groups combined internally the committee has expanded, bringing together old and new faces to review and rebrand the group using old and new methods whilst being supported by new technology and full time employees.
Make SHE first, contact the NESHEP today and join an expanding business grateful for your help and support serving all within the North East.
