Safety Milestone for Fabricom GDF SUEZ Teesside Operation
Fabricom GDF SUEZ Teesside operation, at Wilton International Redcar, is celebrating
1 million man hours works without a lost time accident.
Employees celebrated this safety milestone on 30th March with a presentation from the
management team at their Wilton office, to thank the Teesside team for their excellent
safety performance. A special cake and fleeces were made to mark the occasion.
Kevin Copley, HSEQ Director said “I would like to thank everyone who has worked
towards this safety achievement; this exceptional safety performance is something we
should all be very proud of.’
‘Without the commitment and professionalism of our employees to best safety practices,
we would not only lack recognition for our performance but it could mean that someone
is injured unnecessarily whilst carrying out their work. I would urge all employees to
continue to maintain best safety practices at all times to protect yourself and your
colleagues from injury at work.”
This safety performance has been achieved over a period of three years by a workforce
of around 170 people whilst working on projects such as the Ensus Biorefinery (our
most recent project), ConocoPhillips VOC recovery project (Seal Sands) and various
other maintenance projects in power and petrochemical industries in the North East.
Alan Bassett, Chairman of The North East Safety Environment and Health Partnership
(NESHEP) also attended the presentation, Alan said “Congratulations to everyone at
Fabricom for your dedication to best safety practices, this is an impressive performance
and a good example of the safety performance that businesses should be aiming for to
protect their employees and demonstrate the professional skills that the business can
provide to industry”.
