Merger of NESHEP and Teesside Safety Group
Dear Members/visitors,
There was recently a proposal to merge Teesside Safety Group with the North East SHE Partnership. We have been consulting with members over the last 3 months with regards to this matter and we have given members the opportunity to vote whether they are for or against the merger.
The votes have now been counted and verified and I would like to announce that the vote was unanimous for the merger to go ahead. Therefore with effect of Tuesday 7th June 2011 the groups will merge and become one group which I believe will make us stronger in the region.
This is not an end to Teesside Safety Group but a new beginning which the committee are excited about. I hope you share in our excitement at the prospects of what we can achieve as one new group. Some of the finer details of the new group are yet to be decided and there will be a consultation process with members to discuss these arrangements.
The first meeting of the new group will take place on Tuesday 7th June 2011 and further details and an agenda will follow. The committee are looking forward to welcoming all members to this meeting and we would encourage you to attend.
That just leaves one thing for me to say; on behalf of the committee past and present I would like to thank all members for their continued support over the last 20 years and we look forward to networking, challenging and supporting each other as safety professionals in the near and distant future.
Kindest Regards
Paul Smith
Chairman Teesside Safety Group
Kindest regards
Alan Bassett
